There are many ways you can help to improve the lives of people supported by Community Living Walkerton and District. Whether it is through a one-time online donation, becoming a monthly donor, or through donation of securities, your donation is tax deductible and you will receive a charitable tax receipt.

Your donation helps people to be connected and involved in the community; participating in recreational activities, learning new skills, accomplishing goals, and living full and meaningful lives.

Become a Monthly Donor

Our monthly donors make an incredible impact by showing their support, consistently and all year round.  When you sign up to become a monthly donor, you will receive our quarterly newsletter, and regular updates to keep you informed of the opportunities  you are helping to make possible.

  • Your monthly gift of $10 could help pay for a healthy cooking class for a person on limited income for up to 12 weeks.
  • Your monthly gift of $20 could help pay for the cost of transportation to for up to 7 people to participate fully in their community.
  • Your monthly gift of $50 could make it possible for a person who requires one-to-one support, to participate fully in their community.

Individual Gift

Your individual gift helps people whom have an intellectual disability to receive the support they need in order to contribute and participate fully in their community and become all they can be.  No matter the size, every gift makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

  • A gift of $20 could pay for the cost of transportation for up to 7 people to participate fully in their community.
  • A gift of $50 could pay for a healthy cooking class for a person on limited income for 5 weeks.
  • A gift of $100 could make it possible for a person who requires one-to-one support, to participate fully in their community. 

Community Living Walkerton and District is a registered charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency.  Any donation you make is eligible for the maximum amount allowed by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Tribute Giving

Celebrate a special life, a special person, or a special occasion by giving to Community Living Walkerton and District. Turn your thoughtful gesture into a gift that will empower adults who have intellectual disabilities; providing opportunities for learning, community connection and growth.

In Honour Donations

Many of our donors celebrate a special person by supporting Community Living Walkerton and District.  An “In Honour Gift” is the perfect way to recognize a special occasion for the person who has everything.  Whether it’s a birthday, retirement, wedding, or a holiday gift, we will send a lovely card recognizing the special occasion of your friend or loved one on your behalf.  You will receive a tax receipt for the total amount of your gift.

Memorial Donations

Community Living Walkerton and District receives Tribute Donations in memory of loved ones and dear friends. A gift to honour the memory of a loved one can be a special way to celebrate someones life; a way to provide opportunity and support that will change another’s life. Upon your request we will send the bereaved family a letter acknowledging your thoughtful and heartfelt gift.

Legacy Giving

Your gift, no matter the size, will help provide support and programs for many adults with intellectual disabilities and their families for future generations.  Legacy gifts can be made in the form of a lump-sum amount, a percentage of your estate or a specific item of property.  You can also make Community Living Walkerton and District the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. 

If you are considering a legacy gift to Community Living Walkerton and District, please discuss the plans with your legal/financial council and family.

Gifts of Securities

If you’re looking for a way to reduce your taxes and make a meaningful gift to Community Living Walkerton and District, consider a gift of publicly listed securities such as stocks or mutual funds. 

With a direct donation of securities to CLWD, you eliminate the capital gains tax you would be required to pay if you sold your appreciated securities, AND you also receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation.  A gift of securities benefits you more than giving cash, and maximizes your impact, making this the most efficient way to give.
