Hope in challenging times: CLWD’s COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

paramendic and 2 nurses

What an extremely challenging year we have had, and while the challenges keep coming, we feel more hopeful knowing that many of the people within our organization have received their first dose of the COVID-19 Vaccine.

Community Living Walkerton & District worked with the Grey Bruce Public Health unit to organize  a COVID-19 vaccination clinic.   We are so grateful to Andrea Riley, the manager of public health, and Danielle McNabb, Lead nurse at the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit, for their help in coordinating with us to hold the clinic at our office!

Monday, April 12th, 2021, the date of our vaccination clinic, was an exciting day at CLWD!   Three nurses from the Grey Bruce Public Health unit joined us for the day, along with paramedic, Brayden Berberich, there to provide us with additional support.

The opportunity to be vaccinated for COVID-19 was offered to all people supported through CLWD who live in congregate care settings, and to all our front-line workers.  108 people in total received their COVID-19 Vaccines on April 12th, an amazing turnout!
